It doesn't like your CD? The CD in question (hdb) referrs to the second
ide device/drive, /dev/hda is you linux drive, and /dev/hdb is your CD
drive.

df or mount should confirm this.

Hi David,
Thanks, you have given me a starting point. Looing further up on DMESG I found:

hdb: AÔAÐI DÖDRÏM 1¶XÍaø , ATAPI CD/DVD-ROM drive

The strange thing is that it mounts fine and df does not show anything weird. However, my messages file show:

Dec 14 11:59:44 tux kernel: ATAPI device hdb:
Dec 14 11:59:44 tux kernel: Error: Not ready -- (Sense key=0x02)
Dec 14 11:59:44 tux kernel: (vendor-specific error) -- (asc=0xba, ascq=0x00)
Dec 14 11:59:44 tux kernel: The failed "Test Unit Ready" packet command was:
Dec 14 11:59:44 tux kernel: "00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 "

This goes on and on to fill up to 250MB of warnings!!!

Any ideas?

Saludos,

Arturo
