after the boot i need to enable the nic manually and grow up!
few times when dropping some data from my local ftp server i have a lot of traffic and the connection broken!

Same here. Spent awhile surfing bugzilla, and the problem seem to the 3c905 driver - the problem isn't there in the 2.6 test kernels.
Disabling kudzu fixes (or at least works around) the problem...
