Will the Fedora community offer an open source solution for 3D
acceleration with NVIDIA?  Since I don't play any games or do 3-D
modeling under Linux, hopefully I am not missing too much.

I would like to try QUAKE or something like that under LINUX and then
the 3D Accel would be awesome.

In any case, I am sure NVIDIA will provide a stable "proprietary" driver
ready for kernel 2.6 eventually.
