I guess the real point is, why would you want to?

Surely ISO9660 (+ extensions) and Mnt. Rainer, covers everything you'd
ever need to do with optical disks.

Incidentally, what is the current development status of packet writing on
Fedora? Last time I checked (RH9) you could read the disks, but only
write to loop devices ... not real disks.
