Installing Fedora Core 1 on an Acer Aspire 1703 notebook

Hello,

I'm trying to install Fedora Core 1 on my notebook (actually
it's a desktop replacement) PC Acer Aspire 1703. The installation
procedure goes fine 1 out of 10 times - the rest tries it always hangs
after formatting the /,/boot and swap partitions with an error of "...
run out of disk space" (the machine has an 80GB Seagare hard disk with
74GB free), but on first boot, the machine hangs. After forcing a brute
reboot, the machine boots in text mode and hangs with a message like

	"Yandel PCI (something)"
	"Socket error 3000000x"

Any ideas what might be wrong? I'm providing complete specs of
the machine at the end of this message. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Acer Aspire 1703SM_2.6: Intel P4 2.6GHz (desktop version), 512MB DDR333
RAM (desktop version), SiS650M chipset (800MHz FSB), 80GB Seagate 3.5"
HD (desktop version), nVIDIA GeForce FX Go5600 64MB, DVD-RW Matshita
UJ811.
