As other people have noticed, the nvidia driver needs to be reinstalled with a new kernel. There is another problem. If you use the NVIDIA* script to build/install the driver for the new kernel, the nvidia driver /lib/modules/<oldkern>/kernel/driver/video/nvidia.o gets removed. Matt
