asus p5ld2 se, serial port gone after suspend and i8042 problems

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

I have an asus p5ld2 se. When I suspend the system with swsusp,
uswsusp or suspend2 (I tried everything....using kernel 2.6.17, 2.6.18
and 2.6.19, also using also in 64bit mode)..
The system works well after resume except the serial port (I use lirc
on it..) and the kernel give me the message:
ttyS0: LSR safety check engaged!

the device is gone... The ioports are present after resume, but the
irq 4 is not used anymore.
Here are technical informations.. the kernel is a stock debian amd64
kernel 2.6.18. With other kernels (32 bit) the result is the same... I
will post you other details using other kernels if you want.
In the dmesg attached you can see that pnp device 00:0b and 00:0c
which are i8042 kbd and i8042 aux failed to activate after resume.
Trying with pnpacpi=off nothing changes.. the initialization failed
messages go away, but the serial port don't work.

Before resume:
