assert/crash in __rmqueue() when enabling CONFIG_NUMA

[mail resent with a compressed crash.log]

the 2.6.17-rc2 kernel built with the attached config crashes quite 
easily under minimal load. Disabling CONFIG_NUMA makes it robust again.
